Enclave Games Monthly Report: September 2026
The fifteenth edition of js13kGames ended up with a record breaking number of submitted entries, 317, given many folks sent multiple games, but it was also a time of great discussion on how we can prevent AI slop from entering the competition.

Games
Nope, but I do hope to join Game Off 2026 in November, since Lee submitted seven (!) entries into the js13kGames competition this year.
I hope I could do at least one, most probably with some help from Copilot. Enclave Games hasn’t released a single game since… 2021.
Writing
Four posts: three on the js13kGames blog (about the swag, voting, and soundtrack), and one on the Gamedev.js site, though also about the competition.
Events
The first half of September, up until 13th, was mostly about accepting the js13kGames entries before the deadline, and throughout the second part folks focused on playing and voting on the games.

We’ve announced the 2026 t-shirt deisgn and this year’s swag (a wristband), opened the voting, and published another Community Soundtrack.

It was a bad idea to launch Gamedev.js Survey 2026 the same time as js13kGames 2026 though, as after the announcement… I didn’t have time to do anything around it, not even emailing the previous participants (!). There’s only a handful of surveys, and after wrapping js13kGames I’ll extend the deadline accordingly and start promoting it to get some more.
Other
I’ll have an interesting piece to write about the influence of AI on the Gamedev.js Weekly newsletter. And I’m pretty sure it’s not what you think it is.
Plans for the next month
Email js13kGames prizes, get the shipping details, and order printing t-shirts and wristbands. Extend the Gamedev.js Survey 2026 and focus on collecting the answers.
